Meet the maker

I’m Kala Richards, the heart and hands behind Pink Lily Designs. 

Leaving the corporate grind was both exhilarating and a little terrifying, but I knew I needed to follow a different path. With the unwavering support of my husband and my mom by my side—literally crafting along with me!—I rediscovered my creative spark and found my way back to what I truly love: designing jewelry that speaks to the soul.

Each piece I make is crafted with intention and care because I believe jewelry is personal. I’m not a perfectionist, but I do put my whole self into what I create. If it doesn’t feel right to me, it won’t find a place on my shelves. I love exploring new styles and techniques, but my favorites are the custom orders—getting to hear my customers’ ideas and transforming them into something real and beautiful is what makes this work so rewarding.

My goal is simple: to bring more color, joy, and individuality to the world. I’ve always believed that self-expression is the key to happiness, and I think we could all use a little more boldness and brightness in our lives. While I love a good neutral, I gravitate toward designs that help people stand out, just as I’ve learned to do myself. My jewelry is meant for those who value timelessness over trends and who want pieces as unique as they are.

I live in Denver, NC, close to the breathtaking Blue Ridge Parkway and South Mountains State Park—two places that ground me and fuel my creativity. In fact, South Mountains will always be extra special to me; it’s where I got married in September ‘23!
